The ordering process

A simple four-step process

Commissioning a portrait or still life requires close collaboration between the artist and his client. Four steps are usually necessary to complete your artistic project.

First contact schedule in the workshop

The first contact

During this first step, you help me understand your expectations regarding  your artistic project. Whether a portrait or a still life, we discuss your wishes in terms of dimensions, composition, pose, colors, etc. at this stage. Then we establish a production schedule based on my current order book.

Camera choice of photo reference

Choice of photo-reference or photo session at the workshop

We then choose the reference photograph(s) on which I rely for the realization of your artistic project.

The chosen photographs must be of sufficient quality. Certain details, particularly when it comes to a portrait, are indeed essential to me when constructing my preliminary drawing.

If you wish, I can take a photo of your subject myself, at home, in my studio in Caen.

At this stage, I ask the customer to pay a deposit of one third of the total price (the remaining 2/3 being due upon delivery of the order).

Workshop work

After having selected and approved the photo-reference together, the workshop work can begin. During construction and before the final finishes, I can contact you (one or more times depending on the nature of the project) so that you can share with me your impressions and any criticisms, in order to ensure that the project is going well. common sense and that it meets your expectations.

Completion and delivery

During this completion phase, only slight modifications can be made to the project. This is why it is important that I was able to gather your feelings before this last step.

Once your order is completed, you can come and collect it directly from my workshop.

I can also ship it to you, taking care to guarantee optimal service for the transport of your work of art.
